In 2008 I published - in Italian - an opening book on the Najdorf Defense. The editor insisted to give it the pretentious title "Tatai
insegna la Najdorf" (Tatai teaches the Najdorf). As a matter of fact it was an assay based on my personal experiences with this
complicated and fascinating defense, in which I utilized the few games left of the hundreds and hundreds played during half a century.
Among the many lost games there are those played with what I like to call the Main Line (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3
a6 6.Bg5 e6 7.f4 Be7 8.Qf3 Qc7 9.0𢠢 Nbd7 10.g4). I did not include it in my book, and I received several calls from
Italian chess fans who asked me to enlarge the field of my investigations, focusing on the consequences of this variation. Only when
I began the work I realized the vastness of the job. I confess that I started to hesitate and almost refused to continue, but an impetus
of pride launched me into accepting the challenge.
Given the slowness of the publication of books on paper, I decided to make
use of the evolution of technology, and publish it electronically. In this moment the end of my commitment is near (I guess I'll
be ready with it before Xmas). I offer the reader a sample of the work, visible in the link blow.
